Emily's POV

The screen blinked the words call ended three times before defaulting back to the main screen. I closed it coolly and inhaled deeply. Smile, I told myself and straightened my shoulders as I walked back to the table where I was having dinner with my best friend on the best day of my life. "Who was that?" She asked, the smile never leaving her face; minutes ago we were laughing about the bad karaoke. "It was no one." Korie raised one eyebrow and wiggled it. My back was against the cold plastic and I stared down at my greasy pizza. "Suddenly I'm not too hungry, actually I feel kind of sick. Mind if I bail?" I asked staring at her innocent face. She nodded furiously. "Are you okay to drive Em?" I was concentrating on breathing so hard I almost missed her question. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just going to go get some fresh air then to bed." I gave her a faint smile which reassured her about my state.

I grabbed a book from the passenger side floor board, along with my camera and got out of my car at Garven Gardens; I helped them decorate every year for Christmas so I got in for free. Dillon was working the front desk and he just waved me through. The second I could, I took off running for the maze and decided not stop till I reached the center. If you were lucky enough to be able to reach the center, you would find a beautiful array of orchids, roses, and lilies, planted next to a giant gazebo. I knew the quickest and easiest way to find the center and was picking up speed with every turn. My foot got snagged on a overgrown tree root and I went flying face first at the ground. The knees in my jeans ripped like the skin on my palms. I screamed in pain and began to pound my fists on the ground. He dumped me. He dumped me for Jessica. He dumped me for Jessica, the cheerleader, the prom queen, the perfect girl. I was perfect once, or at least that's what he told me. I cried more hysterically than I ever would had I known someone was watching and someone was. "Can I off you some help or something Miss?" I looked up at him with a dirty tear stained face and he gasped. "You're just a kid." I pushed myself up, the stinging in my palms making me want to cry some more. "I am not a kid. I am 17 years old. Now if you'd be so kind as to leave." I said breathing so hard my chest was rising and falling faster than ever. "I think I was here first." His voice sounded snobby and I couldn't focus on his face enough to hit him in it because the tears clouded my vision. That and my glasses were on the ground in two pieces. "I just came here to read and take pictures like I always do. I really didn't think my day could get any worse after earlier, thanks for proving me wrong." I limped away from my personal secret garden in defeat. Normally I would have argued but I didn't have the will power right then. He called after me but I exited with one turn and headed for my car, hoping to never see his face again.

Korie's POV

"Emily! I see you! You're pulling into the parking lot." I smiled and jumped up and down while she pulled in next to my car. She shut her phone and rolled her eyes before getting out of the car. "What is so important that I had to get dressed and drive down here for pizza before 1 o'clock?" Her eyelids were a little droopy and hair in a cute messy ponytail which meant she hadn't bothered to shower this morning. "So guess whose best friend won back stage passes at 7 am this morning via the radio for Avenged Sevenfold tomorrow." I smiled and looked away. Out of my peripheral vision I saw her jaw drop. "You?" She stuttered out. I jumped up and down and pulled them from the hidden pocket of my hoodie. "I am such an epic win." She stood there for a second then looked at me. "Wait... Why were you up at 7? You are NOT morning person." I sighed. "Well. My alarm to remind me to take my medicine was set for 6:30 am instead of pm and then I couldn't go back to sleep. I was pretty much the only caller. It was amazing." After I gave a valid answer Emily screamed with excitement. "I'm decently sure I'm about to throw up I'm so excited." She finally said and I suggest we actually go eat. We had just gotten our food when her phone rang. I assumed it was Justin but just after answering it she left the table and stood by the bathroom. The call wasn't too long and she seemed fine when she returned. "Who was that?" I asked and smiled up at my friend as she reseated herself. "It was no one." I raised an eyebrow. "Suddenly I'm not too hungry, actually I feel kind of sick. Mind if I bail?" She asked and I nodded her on. "Are you okay to drive Em?" "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just going to go get some fresh air then to bed." Her smile was weak, but I let her go. Whatever was up, she'd tell me when she was ready.

The Next Night

"DID YOU SEE MATT SMILE AT ME? HE WAS SO SMILING AT ME!" I screamed and Emily laughed. "Take a deep breath Korie. I don't want you dry humping them the second they walk in the room." A big burly black man led us to the back, ignoring our crazy conversation. "I never thought about doing that." I said very seriously just to watch Emily twitch. "Just kidding, don't worry." He opened a door but instead of a room it led outside. "Knock on the bus door. They're waiting for you." He basically kicked us out and locked the door. "Here goes nothing." Emily whispered and grabbed my hand. I balled up my fist to hit the door but I just couldn't do it, so Emmy had to. Zacky V. greeted us and I swear, I almost peed myself. "Hey Johnny!" He called as we followed him up the steps. "I win the bet. They're hot." I looked at Em and we were blushing in unison. Brian looked up from his computer for a moment then back down at it. "Rude." Emily whispered and I elbowed her in her side when I realized he heard her. "Wait a second." He stood. "It's you." Bri pointed at Emily. "Pardon?" "You're the girl who was crying in the park." She released my hand stood in what appeared to be pure horror. "So you're the jerk? Small world."

Emily coughed again and I pouted even more. "Honestly mom. She's fine." I smiled extra wide for her. Our nurse of a mother whipped a thermometer out of nowhere and shoved it in Em's ear. At that moment I knew she was doomed. "Fine is apparently a 101.5 fever these days, eh? Korie Elaine. You're going to the concert without your sister tonight. End of discussion. Emily. Get in that bed, cover up, and I'll bring you some soup in a few minutes." Emily coughed her way to tears. "Don't worry Emmy. I'll record it all for you." She glared at me from around her covers. "You better get Matty to sign my shirt. Or I'll get you Korie." I picked up the keys to our car off my bed and looked over my shoulder at my twin, she looked so bad. "Love ya." I took off for the stairs in a run, realizing I needed to get going to the Avenged Sevenfold concert.

4 hours later

I was standing in line to meet the boys. When I say in line, I mean at the very end. Only Brian was left when I got to the front. "Hello cutie. What's your name?" Once I realized he was the only one out there I stomped my foot. "Fuck my life Em is going to kill me." "That's quite the name." He laughed and I looked up. "Sorry. I'm Korie. My twin sister caught something and our nurse for a mom noticed before I could throw her sick ass in the car and drive her here. And..." My face flushed. "And you probably don't care." He stared at me a minute. "Okay. I have a favor to ask of you, which might be weird, but it's important." I stood perfectly still. "Matt is coming down with something. We don't want to call in a doctor or take him to a hospital. You know how the rumor mill runs. Fast and outrageous." I nodded still staring at the beautiful Brian Haner. "Do you see where I'm going with this?" I shook my head no, oblivious. He sighed. "We're going to follow you to your house in secret. And your mom can check out Matthew." A light bulb went off in my head. Emmy can't come to the concert so I'll bring the concert to her. "YES! Mom would die to have another person to take care of. You wouldn't think that'd be the case with her being a nurse, and that being her job; but she says we're growing up too fast." He smiled before I could blush again. "Okay. Now pretend you've said goodbye to us, get in your car, and drive home. We'll be behind you in less than 10 minutes." I nodded with the most stupid grin on my face. Through the drive home I was mindless, I couldn't think. I even stood oustide my car in the 20 degree weather waiting on them. That giant tour bus pulled up to the curb. "Finally," I mumbled. "Quickly! Mom is waiting up on me." I ran towards the door, several Avenged boys in tow wondering what my mom was going to say. "Mom." I called from the foyer, peeking into the living room. "It is about time. I thought I heard your car 10 minutes ago. Where have you been?" I took a deep breath. "I have a friend who might be sick. Before you say anything, they don't want to take him to a doctor for fear of publicity." "Publicity?" She yawned as she came down the few stairs to the foyer. "Who is-? Oh. Those boys from that band. Come in for Christ's sake. Before you're all sick. Where's the sick one?" Mom sighed, putting on her glasses and turning on a light for the living room. "You better come in before she boils water for us all to drink Theraflu." I motioned everyone inside and took off my jacket.

Half an hour later mom was still messing with Matty. "Okay, your lymph nodes are swollen and you're coughing. How on Earth did you make it through that show? I think you have what Emily has. Korie take him up to your bed, I'm going to start some Theraflu and soup. The rest of you are welcome to stay here tonight. He cannot go on that germ infested bus like this." Mom walked away and I looked at the rest of them. "You asked for this. Come on, follow me, looks like you get my comfy bed." I will be washing those sheets tomorrow. Emily better love me when she wakes up.

Emily's POV

I shivered again. Stupid fever. I haven't had one since 9th grade, and this virus chooses the concert of my life to make me stay home from? Fml. I turned over and Korie's voice was muffled through the pillow I placed on top of my head. At least I think that was her voice. Who cares? I'm freezing, and sad that I missed my precious Matthew singing on stage. The door shut and I laid in the dark for a few more minutes. "Korie?" I whispered. A mumble arose from her bed. "I know I'm sicky but can I come sleep with you? I'm so cold. I won't infect you. I promise." I said in a hushed tone, already walking over to her bed. She grunted and I picked up the covers. "I love you evil twin." Her full bed seemed huge and scooted my body against hers. "Goodnight." As I hugged her, my body stiffened. Korie doesn't have muscles like that. "Korie." I whimpered, trying get away. The body turned towards me sitting up. I screamed! "NOT KORIE. YOU ARE NOT KORIE." My voice was strained. The light turned on and Korie was standing in the doorway. I looked down to see Matthew Sanders in my sisters bed. "Fuck." I said falling backwards off her bed. I stood up and looked down at my Hello Kitty pj pants. "Korie. Why is there an extremely hot musician in your bed staring at me?" My voice squeaked at the end of the sentence and I wanted something hot for my throat. "Korie, answer me right now, am I delusional from my fever or is there a gorgeous man in your bed?" I shivered and threw myself in my bed again. "Just because I'm cold doesn't mean you can just not answer my question." Korie walked away and I sighed. "Note to self: kill twin sister." I heard laughter next to me and I glared at him. "What's so funny?" The pretty Avenged boy looked at me. "Nothing. I'm Matthew, though you already know that. I'm guessing you're Emily?" I nodded, before throwing my legs over the side of the bed. "I have to admit. Being sick and missing an awesome concert sucks, but I'll take this as trade off." He smiled again we coughed in unison. "It sucks, I know." I whispered. “But mom is the best in the business, so she’ll have you up and running in no time.” I smiled but secretly hoped it wouldn’t be too quickly. I broke eye contact with him only to remember the Avenged poster hanging over my bed. The one with lipstick kisses all over Matty and Zacky’s crotches. Heat was radiating from my face. I couldn’t take it down without being obvious so I’d just have to make it dark. “Mind if we turn off the light and just turn on the tv? It’s kind of bright in here.” He nodded and I walked to the switch. I had forgotten to turn on the TV first though, so I could walk by its light and ended tripping over my own feet. “Ow.” I moaned and rolled on my back, coughing. I tried to stand up and walk again, but I had no clue which direction to go. “Follow my voice.” Matthew called out.

Korie’s POV

I was sitting Indian style on the ugly cherry colored carpet of my living room, in front of Zach. His face flushed red, before he let out a giant breath. I jumped up from my position. “Victory is mine!” “How did you hold your breath that long?” Johnny questioned me, wide eyed. “Life guard, three years in a row.” Zacky still looked out of breath. I crossed and uncrossed my legs while I stood there; I need to entertain them. Mom had just run up soup to Emmy and Matty, so she was gone to bed, I could do whatever I wanted (within reason). I tilted my head to the side. What do four boys, excuse me men, like to do? A splash pulled me from my pondering. My head spun around to see water hitting the sliding glass door. Mom ran past me before I had time to react. "Hospital called. They're short. Take care of Emily and what's his face. Be back." She yelled with her back to me and my brain began acting at once. So now, I could literally do whatever I wanted. I heard water splashing again, except this time it was more like 3 in a row. The last splash hit me in the face a little bit and it was freezing. The boys had jumped in to go swimming, in below freezing weather. "Are you just going to join us or just stand there?" Johnny called my way through chattering teeth. I turned my back on them, ready to go home. Then I heard it. "Did someone just cluck?" I asked over my shoulder. One of the boys was pissing himself laughing and flailing in the water. I pulled my socks off and took off running for the pool. The water bit at all parts of my body, freezing them instantly. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck my life. I'm out of here." I was fluttering around trying to get to the side. I managed to finally push myself out and make a run for the door. I heard slight footsteps behind me but I didn't care. I started to rip off my clothes and headed for the fire place. Zacky was cat calling behind me as I began to jump up and down in front of the crackling fire. "That was such a bad idea." I shivered. All of the boys began to spill inside the house. "Okay so who wants to have some naked, body warmth sharing?" I winked and reached for my bra hooks. "NO. N. O." Brian shouted, and all the guys looked back at him in horror. His response was death glares and to start outside. "Let's go get some clothes off the bus guys." They followed him with sulking faces and I laid by the fire. Brian is such a fucking party pooper. I stretched out, finally drying off and trying to figure out a new plan.
