'cause theres no one in the world like Emily

There's about a million of these journals when this time of year rolls around. I know if it wasn't for one I read last year I would have been lost. I'm going to give you some suggestions and a list of essentials. Maybe I'll help some of you first timers, like I was helped last year.

Things you need:

1. Sun Block.

I don't care who you are, or where you are going... Spend at least eight hours in the sun (yes you will be there that long at least) and you'll thank me for warning you.

2. A bag.

Drawstring gym bags work the best. They're small, easily accessed, and hold a bunch of stuff when needed. You can throw freebies you pick up in there, plus all the goodies you'll buy.

3. Money, Money, Money.

Kay, so bring PLENTY of this. Start saving now people. My uncle supplied me with all the cash I needed, but I know he shoveled out a bunch of this.

4. An empty water bottle.

It can't have anything in it, but they have fountains. Filling this up will save you some money. However I do suggest you pick up a Gatorade or Powerade to rehydrate your nutrients every now and then.

5. Patience. 

You're not going to get to see every show you want, or be in the front every time. Being a brat is not going to help anybody and probably just make everyone mad at you. It'll be fun, trust me. And you probably won't get to meet everyone. Scratch that. You definitely won't. So don't get bent out of shape about it.

6. Sharpies.

I forgot some for signing purposes and had to buy some for super expensive. Plus having a sharpie will allow you to plan out your schedule. Oh and paper. Not much, but maybe a little note pad unless you want to buy a paper schedule of all the bands and times.

7. A kickin' attitude.

No matter what happens, try to have fun. It won't last forever (though it seems like it at the time) and you don't wanna ruin it. I had an awesome time. I'm hoping to have even more fun this year. So I hope to hear that this helps some of you, and I also hope you can pass these tips along. Like that one movie teaches it. Pay it forward. Oh and don't be snooty and not accept help. You'll be better off, trust me.
