'cause theres no one in the world like Emily

The Maine was founded in early January of 2007, and not a moment too soon if you ask me. Founding members Pat Kirch (drums) and Garrett Nickelsen (bassist) decided it was their time to shine with their own sound. They joined forces with John O'Callaghan (lead singer), Ryan Osterman (former guitarist), and Alex Ross (former guitarist) to form, The Maine.

In spring of 2007 The Maine made the decision to add Kennedy Brock, and later that same year Osterman and Ross said their goodbyes to the band. Still one man short The Maine took discovered Jared Monaco to be another guitarist for the band. It is no surprise that they were a hit. Two of the band's members were asked to graduate early and it paid off for them. Their talent was soon discovered by Fearless Records, and wouldn't you know it? They got a record contract before they got their diplomas.

Mere months after they got their recording contract, their debut album was out. The Way We Talk was an instant hit. Barely 6 months later they had released their second album Can't Stop, Won't Stop. These boys may be fast, but they don't slack off when it comes to their music. These are some of the best songs I've heard in a while and they are well written. For Christmas '08, they also released ...And A Happy New Year, which is another short album with Christmas songs written by the band.

Young, cute, and talented, these boys are a triple threat you need to watch out for. If you haven't heard them all ready I want to know what rock you've been living under? I haven't had the chance to see them live in person yet, but I've heard many good things about them so I'd say take the chance if you get it to see them. I'll be seeing them on Warped Tour this summer, and I'll let you know what I think after that.
